Building Bridges and Sharing OKR Magic at Atlassian Team ’24

The Oboard team is still buzzing from our time at Atlassian Team ’24 in Las Vegas! Despite working with Atlassian for five years, this was our first time attending a big event of theirs — and we should have gone sooner. This year’s event was packed with engaging sessions, insightful discussions, and fantastic networking opportunities. We have so much to share about our experiences, presentations, and exciting new partnerships. Whether you joined us in person or followed along online, here’s a recap of the most thrilling moments from the conference.

The Recap of Atlassian Team’ 24

The event started with an electrifying opening keynote by Atlassian founders Mike Cannon-Brookes, Scott Farquhar, and President Anu Bharadwaj. They shared exciting updates and innovations, emphasizing the importance of collaboration tools like Jira and Confluence. Anu Bharadwaj highlighted her experiences with Atlassian tools, showcasing how they streamline communication and enhance productivity.

Teams’24 focused greatly on newer Atlassian tools, like Loom. Loom, a video messaging service, was introduced into the Atlassian family a year ago. It now works throughout the entire Atlassian stack—and through it, with OKR Board for Jira and Confluence. It’s a great tool for updating your teams when you cannot type or need a bit of personal touch, and the potential is definitely there for more exciting integrations in the future.

The event also explored the new updates to the Atlassian stack and closer integration of AI Workflows into Jira, Confluence, and other Atlassian tools. We are currently working on some of our own AI assistants in the Oboard software, and will definitely be using the Atlassian solutions for inspiration!

Oboard at Team ’24

We kicked off Atlassian Team ’24 with a series of brain-dates — a new format for Atlassian networking. Brain-dates are short presentations on a narrow topic where 6 people or less first listen to the speaker and then discuss the subject. Here are the topics of our brain-dates:

  • The Next KPIs: Implementing OKRs in Jira
  • How to Implement OKRs in Jira and Confluence
  • Understanding OKRs Through Pirate Lore

In addition, our CEO and founder, Viktor Grekov, made a presentation about structuring the product development team’s backlog. Despite the early morning start, the sessions were energized, and we met some wonderful people there. Diving deep into OKRs with fellow Atlassian enthusiasts was a fantastic opportunity.

Another big part of our mission at Atlassian Team ’24 was to demonstrate the capabilities of Oboard’s OKR Software for Jira and Confluence. Viktor was also on hand for live demos, showcasing how our tools can revolutionize OKR implementation for teams. The response was overwhelmingly positive, and we look forward to continuing these conversations post-event.

The event also provided a fantastic platform to meet potential partners and collaborators. From early morning braindates with Greg Williams from Warner Bros. Discovery to insightful discussions with Catalina Barriga and Gerardo Guajardo from S4E, we are excited about future collaborations. It is a bit too early to be more specific, but let’s say we are working on some new opportunities for Oboard users — and you will hear about them soon!

Looking Ahead

As we reflect on an eventful Atlassian Team ’24, we’re grateful for the opportunity to connect, learn, and grow. We can’t wait to continue these conversations and explore the new partnerships and collaborations that emerged from this event.

Thank you to the Atlassian team for organizing such an incredible event and everyone who made our experience so special. Stay tuned for more updates and insights from Oboard, and if you haven’t yet, check out our latest OKR tools and join the revolution in goal setting and tracking!
