WHAT IS RICE?

The RICE framework is a scoring system developed by the brilliant product management team at Intercom.
RICE stands for the four criteria to evaluate product ideas.

About Us

We are a team of Jira experts who wants to make it much more useful. We developed our OKR board plugin for internal usage and to cover our personal needs, but later on we decided to open it for everyone who love Jira and OKR framework.

FAQ

How to create an Objective?
You can create 3 types of objective: Company, Group, Personal. To create a Company's objective just click the button "Create objective".

Group and Personal objectives can be added by clicking the button "Create objective" or "from the menu Actions".

How to create an Objective and put in into backlog?
Pick the "backlog" quarter while creating new objective.
How to create Key Result?
A Key Result can be added to any Objective. Click the menu "Edit" and pick "Create Key Result".
How to link Jira-Issue?
A jira-issue can be linked to a Objectives only.

To link a jira-issue from the plugin click the "Link Jira Task", find the respective task and make a link.

BTW: if you want to track issue but don't want your objective grade been affected by this task, turn off the contribute toggle.

When Jira Epic or Issue is resolved - progress of Key result will be also updated automatically. No manual work to update status of Key result is needed
How to change Grade?
You can change it only for key results. Change it within the grid or inside of KR by changing values (current/initial/target). The grade will be changed automatically with changing any value in respective KR.
How to search?
You can search:

  • Key Results and Objectives for the main from. The only titles are covered by search, but not IDs.
  • Jira-Issues, by title, but not IDs. It's a jira-system limitation.
  • Users in the user management section.
  • Team in the team management section.
To start search just start typing.
How to view OKRs of my group/team or my OKRs?
We have three section: all OKRs, group, and personal.
It's easier to work with personal OKRs in the section "Personal"
Group's OKRs are available in the section "Group".
But all the OKRs are available in the section "All OKRs" which is set by default.

How to invite a user to the plugin?
  1. To have an access to the tab you must be a Jira-administrator.
  2. Go to the tab "Manage Users" and toggle the required mate.
  3. You have to set the team and the role for the person (more about roles).
How to remove user from the plugin?
  1. If a user is removed from Jira, he will be removed from the plugin automatically.
  2. If you want to limit access to plugin for an existing user, just switch off the respective toggle.



How to change a group or a role for a user?
Find a user and change them. Don't forget to save the changes.
🔒What kind of permissions do you have?
There are three roles with different level of permissions:

User: can see everything, edit/delete only OKR created by him
Team leader: can see everything, edit/delete only OKR assigned on his Team
Super user: can see and do everything
How to create, change or remove a group?
Click the button "Manage Group" and click "New"

❗️If you remove a group, it will be removed from all associated users and group objectives.

Does plugin support Jira Server?
Right now OKR Board supports only Jira Cloud. In the nearest future we will support Jira Server as well.
