Power BI Integration and AI Actions
What’s new
This release is about automation. OKR tools are only as good as the data in them — and keeping that data accurate at scale has always required someone to do it by hand. That changes with two new capabilities: a direct Power BI integration that keeps your metrics current automatically, and expanded AI actions that let your AI assistant do work in Oboard, not just read from it.
Power BI Integration

Your most important metrics — churn rate, revenue, NPS, pipeline — already live in Power BI. Now they can live in Oboard too, updated automatically, every day, without anyone touching them.
Connect any Power BI dataset to a key result, KPI, or metric in Oboard. Define which value to pull using a DAX query, and Oboard handles the rest. The value stays current without manual check-ins.
For larger teams, the impact compounds. Hundreds of OKRs across dozens of groups, all staying current automatically — your strategic picture is always up to date, at any scale.

AI Integration — Your AI Can Now Take Action in Oboard

Oboard’s AI integration previously gave your AI assistant a live view of your OKR data. It can now act on it.
Connect an AI agent to Oboard via MCP and it can create elements, edit existing ones, and submit check-ins — on demand or on a schedule. Draft a full OKR structure from a strategy document, have your AI log a weekly progress update automatically, or build an agent that creates and assigns new key results based on your team’s output. The connection is live, bidirectional, and works with Claude, ChatGPT, and any MCP-compatible agent.
Combine this with Power BI and you have a fully automated OKR loop: live data flows in from your systems, and your AI handles the structure, updates, and reporting. Less time maintaining the tool. More time using what it tells you.

Good news from Oboard: Forge migration on track, SOC 2 Type II completed
What’s happening
You may have noticed a banner in Jira this week saying that okrplugin_prod “might stop working in December 2026.” We want to clear this up right away: Oboard will keep working, and there is nothing you need to do.
Where we stand
Oboard is already a Forge + Connect (hybrid) app.
Atlassian is phasing out the older “Connect-only” architecture. We migrated Oboard to a Forge + Connect hybrid well ahead of that deadline, which is the architecture Atlassian recommends today. The banner is a generic system message Atlassian shows to apps that have any Connect components in their manifest — it does not reflect Oboard’s actual status.
Next step: full Forge Remote by the end of Q3 2026.
We are already in the final stages of moving the remaining Connect components to Forge Remote — Atlassian’s newest, fully Forge-native runtime. Rollout is scheduled to be completed by the end of Q3 2026, well before any Atlassian deprecation date. This will be a transparent upgrade for you — no reinstall, no configuration change, no downtime.
SOC 2 Type II — completed.
Alongside the platform work, we recently completed our SOC 2 Type II audit. This means an independent third party has verified that the controls protecting your data — security, availability, confidentiality — operate effectively over time, not just at a point in time. The full report is available under NDA from our Trust Center: https://trust.oboard.io.
What this means for you
- No action required. Your OKRs, integrations, users, and data are unaffected.
- No interruption expected. The migration to Forge Remote will happen in the background.
- You can dismiss the banner. It’s a generic Atlassian-wide notice, not a signal about Oboard’s status.
We’ll post a follow-up note once the migration is fully complete.

Thank you for trusting Oboard!
